Acupuncture Awareness Week

Acupuncture for neck pain

ACUPUNCTURE AWARENESS

The focus this year is on traditional acupuncture.  More than 2.3 million acupuncture treatments are given in the UK and it’s one of the most popular complementary therapy.

So why choose traditional acupuncture?

Traditional acupuncture started in China and has developed over 2,500 years, possibly 5,000; it’s certainly not a short-lived fad. The British Acupuncture Council has over 3,000 members who are trained to degree level and are bound by strict guidelines in practise including safety, professional conduct and continued professional development.  In addition you can tell who is a member as they will have the letters MBAcC after their name.

About the needle?

So, the needles are as fine as human hair and vary in lengths and feel nothing like having an injection, you may feel a slight tingling sensation.  It is a gentle and effective treatment that focus’ on treating the whole person. Furthermore, it is safe for babies and the elderly and works well alongside conventional medicine.

How can it help?

Acupuncture may help with a symptom, condition or even help wellbeing and maintaining good health.  Here’s a link to research that supports the use for many conditions:
